News Pitti Uomo exceeds expectations
"It has exceeded all expectations”. This was the general opinion of the exhibitors present on the last day of Pitti Uomo, held between the 9th and the 12th of January at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence. The Pitti Uomo organisers registered over 13,000 visitors, including around 4,700 foreigners.
The top ten countries were Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Spain, Turkey, France, Japan, the United States, Switzerland and Belgium. The recovery of the major Asian markets was also notable.

In terms of the different geographical origins of visitors, there was a significant return of the Asian market. However, as a general trend, the current positive performance of the segment may have contributed to the increased interest in the Tuscan fair. By the middle day of the 11th, the organisers were already reporting a 4% increase in the number of foreign buyers compared to the previous edition. The number of Italian visitors, on the other hand, fell slightly.

Better-than-expected results
"This edition? Much better than expected”. These are the words of Antonio Putzollu, Vice President of Barret. "We've had visits from Japanese buyers, some from Russia, and many from Italy and Europe. And lots of meetings - we'll see how many of these lead to orders in the future.”
Remo Paolo Papini is also "beyond doubt” satisfied with Pitti. "We saw many people and sold to new customers, even though the Tuscany fair is not the usual place for placing orders”. The co-founder of Manovie Toscane mentions only one disappointment regarding Japan – "the exchange rate between the yen and the euro is not favourable at the moment”.

For Andrea Marozzi, "the trade fair went well”. "We are satisfied, we have been able to expand our customer base, and we were happy with the feedback we received from buyers. We were also pleased to receive some orders from global customers interested in our products”. The Mirial Heritage sales manager then points out: "Now, we have to turn the interest shown by potential customers into actual orders”.

The Portuguese footwear and lifestyle brand Ambitious was present at this edition of Pitti Uomo, alongside other national clothing and accessories brands. "Ambitious’s continued presence at a fair with the prestige of Pitti Uomo once again strengthens our brand’s positioning and recognition as a leading player in the international premium footwear segment”, says Pedro Lopes. The commercial director of the Guimarães brand admits that "this participation allows us not only to strengthen our presence in the Italian market, one of the most important for Ambitious, but also to support our vision of expanding into new markets,
especially in Asia”.

"As a multicategory men’s fashion event”, he says, Pitti Uomo "represents significant added value and offers us the opportunity to reach out to different sectors and business models. This participation not only promotes our learning as a brand, but also paves the way for new commercial relationships and future business opportunities”.

For Ana Sousa from Vandoma, the assessment of the fair is very positive. "We were confident that it would be a good fair, as the January edition is always stronger than the June edition, but our expectations were exceeded”.

The Porto necktie brand sees this fair as a great showcase for international promotion. "There was an enormous flow of buyers from different countries - Spain, France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Japan, Iraq, Ghana... Normally, the first two are the busiest, but this year the third was also very busy”. In addition, the Vandoma responsible admits that "we had some good contacts to work on in the short term, but also orders from new customers”.
The next edition will take place from the 11th to the 14th of June 2024.
