China hosts the next UITIC’s Congress
UITIC'S congress will take place in China in 2021
China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) as selected, by the International Union of Shoe Industry Technicians’ (UITIC) Executive Committee, to be the host of the 21st edition of the Congress, in 2021. This will be the second time the Congress will be held in China, since the 18th edition, in 2018, in Dongguan and Guangzhou.
Yves Morin, UITIC’s President since 2010, believes this will be a unique opportunity to get to know “the future of the industry. In the last edition, in 2018, in Porto, the results were way beyond everyone’s expectations. We gathered 540 delegates from 33 countries. I hope professionals take this opportunity to come back to China and discover how this country is preparing the future of the sector”.
Since 1972, UITIC’s Congress acts as a gathering of footwear experts from around the world. This congress usually brings together the main players within the sector. It is organized in two sessions: the first day is dedicated to visiting footwear companies and related industries; the following days are dedicated to presentations and technical talks. However, it is up to the Scientific Committee to select presentations that will bring the expected contribution to the sector from worldwide experts.
The International Union of Shoe Industry Technicians (UITIC) was created in 1972 and is an organization that aims to develop innovation within the footwear sector, especially by organizing international conferences regularly and by promoting the creation of partnerships and knowledge exchange among the sector representatives.
