At the latest edition of MICAM, MATA presented two distinct collections developed from specific bases and materials: the continuation of the M-Dv collection for men and the absolute debut of the WD collection for women. Both share a common vision, in which protection against the elements is integrated into the design of the footwear without compromising aesthetics.

At the world’s largest footwear trade fair, the company showcased a collection with a strong focus on waterproofing, integrating the MATA TEX membrane applied between the leather and the lining. This technical solution creates an effective barrier against moisture while ensuring breathability and thermal comfort — essential features for cold and rainy winter days. Waterproofing thus ceases to be a visible or merely functional element, becoming instead a discreet and sophisticated part of the product’s identity.

MATA’s Autumn/Winter 2026 collection results from the combination of decades of experience and a technical approach focused on performance in urban and winter environments. Comfort, functionality and waterproofing play a central role, combined with the high quality of the leathers, construction precision and a contemporary yet timeless design. According to Managing Director Rui Oliveira, these two collections reflect requests and developments the company has been working on for many years, combining technical aspects with design elements into a single product concept in order to fully meet customers’ needs.

Innovation also extends to the lasting insole without a metal shank, lined with memory foam, which preserves the shoe’s structure while enhancing the wearing experience. The removable memory foam footbed, combined with a heel stabiliser, ensures a precise and personalised fit, reinforcing long-lasting comfort.

Natural and handcrafted finishes complete the proposal, giving each model character and uniqueness while reflecting a balance between technique, aesthetics and durability.

With the AW26 collection, MATA redefines the concept of waterproof winter footwear, investing in advanced technical solutions elegantly integrated into the design, created to keep pace with everyday life without compromising excellence.
