With Vizela as background, Eureka has celebrated, in December, three decades of history recalling of what matter the DNA of Alberto Sousa is made. Founded in 1986 by Alberto Sousa, the company with the same name is one of the greatest manufacturers of the footwear sector in Portugal. Acknowledged by its high quality casual and formal production of male and female footwear, the group’s own brand, Eureka, is a reference on the Portuguese footwear scene.

In 2009, driven by the passion for the world of footwear, and already with the participation of the new generation, Alberto Sousa’s company conquered an important milestone with the launching of Eureka Shoes stores’ network, in Portugal, personifying the only way to be in the world of footwear that allows creation, production, sales point and services. A strong and unifying concept that guides and distinguishes the brand.
In 2014, the brand inaugurated its first store within the international market, with the opening of a store in Luxembourg, a significant milestone on the brand’s international promotion strategy. Since then, the brand has already opened commercial spaces in Germany and the Netherlands and, at the moment, has 27 stores in Portugal.
The company is increasingly investing on its own brands Filipe Sousa, Eureka Concept Collection, Mr. Sousa and Miss Julia. Eureka Concept Collection presents exclusive and limited collections; Mr. Sousa aims towards a public of sophisticated men, who don’t abdicate comfort and quality; and Miss Julia has as the main target women, who don’t overlook the everyday details.
The collection signed by designers – the COxLABS – complete the private brands from Eureka Shoes, showing what is best made in Portugal in regard of fashion design. Luis Carvalho x Eureka, Prudêncio x Eureka, Marques’Almeida x Eureka and Nuno Gama x Eureka are the conceived collections in collaboration with national designers.
