Portuguese footwear has one more house, this time in Lisbon. MLV shoes has just opened its first store, in number 2A of Avenida Guerra Junqueiro. The new space allows the brand to have a representation in the capital, since it was already present in all cities, through multi-brand sales points, besides a strong online presence. However, "none of these options enabled to showcase the entire catalogue so that it was possible to feel, to touch each model” Pedro Vieira tells NiT.
The new space provides a unique shopping experience, with a backdrop of refinement and sophistication.
MLV Shoes has been in the market for over 60 years and Pedro Vieira is already the third generation at the helm of the company. In an interview with NiT, he assumes to have been born "in the world of shoes”. His grandfather's factory in Santa Maria da Feira produced only men's shoes. But it was from his father that Pedro Vieira acquired the necessary experience to embrace the business in 2000. "He was the one who passed on all the teachings related to the commercial side of the business”. At that time, Pedro began to change the positioning of the company, maintaining the national production and creating his DNA. "During a brainstorming session in 2010, we decided to develop our first models. We subcontracted Portuguese factories in the north to produce our creations”, says Pedro. "The brand’s identity has been refined with our ideas, year after year”.
And so, a new era began. MLV is starting to invest in women’s shoes, elegant and exclusive. Pedro explained to NiT that the brand "has developed overtime the comfort feature, our key differentiation point. And we try to combine with fashion”. "The market already had very comfortable shoes, or very stylish ones, but people would take them off after an hour or two. We decided to combine both aspects”, he added.
Sandals, shoes, and sneakers adorned with bows, stones, sparkles and beads, are some of the details that the brand offers its clients.
