The Spanish singer-songwriter Alejandro Sanz officially received last Friday star number 2.703 in the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. At the ceremony, the artist chose to wear Portuguese shoes, more specifically, Nobrand sneakers.
According to Luís Onofre, "this action is the result of the collective effort to promote the Portuguese footwear in foreign markets”. For the President of APICCAPS, it is paramount to promote the type of actions that "place national footwear on a new level of excellence”.
The model chosen by the artist is a white sneaker that combines leather, suede and nylon, with a bicolour EVA sole with a TR trade.
Alejandro Sanz’s star shares space with the ones from John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Roy Orbison at the entrance of Capitol Records, the fragment of the Walk of Fame reserved for music.
It was not the first time that an international star turned to Portuguese shoes. Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, Pablo Alborán, Pippa Middleton, Milena Smidt, Pedro Almodovar’s new muse, and the cast of "La Casa de Papel” regularly wear national shoes.
