Belcinto's story began in 1961 in São João da Madeira, a city in northern Portugal internationally recognised for generations of excellence in leather craftsmanship. It was here, amid a deep-rooted tradition of leatherworking, that our journey started with handcrafted leather belts, made from carefully selected cow and calf hide.
Over more than six decades, that founding craft has evolved into a broader expertise in fine leather goods — from small leather accessories to travel articles — while never losing sight of the precision and care that defined our earliest work. Today, this legacy of craftsmanship and consistent quality has established Belcinto as a leading name in the national market.
Today, 56 years later, we continue to produce with passion, characterized by a unique legacy of craftmanship with incomparable quality which permits us to concede national market leadership.
Our passion for leatherwork has also driven us to share our artistry beyond Portugal. For years, we have collaborated with private-label brands and leading international designers, producing on their behalf — a partnership that has continuously shaped our production practices and broadened our global perspective.
